This Fall we'll be diving into the book of Acts focusing on the birth of the Church.
Acts was authored by Luke around the year 63 A.D. The author proves to be a tedious historian as he chronicles life after the ascension of Christ, closely following the apostles Peter and Paul. Through Acts we are able to catch a glimpse of the birth of the Church. Up until this time the people of God were Jewish, but now they were to be known as followers of Christ. These followers started as a small group, possibly only a few hundred when Jesus was crucified, though thousands knew who He was. This small group would quickly expand within Jerusalem and then to the far edges of the earth.
Acts gives us an account of how that happened and insight to what we should look for in our own churches as well as how we should engage the world around us. Join us as we explore this incredible story and see what God has for us to learn.
