Letter from the Pastor

I am so glad you are taking the time to visit our site, and I hope you will have a chance to visit our church if you have not already.

North Sea is a very special place.  Here you will find over twenty nationalities represented and people from many different denominational backgrounds.  So no matter your background, you will find a place here.  It is truly a picture of the Body of Christ!

Our primary purpose is to provide a home and family away from home for the many internationals in the Stavanger area and by doing so, we hope to be a light to our community.  Jesus says in the Gospel of John that they will know we are His disciples by our love for one another, so that is our first goal.

Secondly, we strive to equip our people to make an impact in their community and around the world. It is my hope that everyone who leaves North Sea would leave with a missionary mindset, realizing that though they are on a military, oil, or some other payroll, they are ultimately missionaries on staff there being sent all over the world.  We aim to equip our people through Bible studies (we have thriving men's ministry, women's ministry, youth group, AWANAs, and more!), preaching, mission trips, special events, personal discipleship, and more.

Also, it is our goal to reach those within the community who do not know Christ as well as make an impact around the world while here in Norway.  There are a number of ways in which we try to do this.  For example, we, in partnership with the local Anglican church, brought Operation Christmas Child to Norway a couple of years ago. Also, we have done outreach to refugees, international university students, have taken mission trips, and are even hoping to be a part of a bar ministry this fall.

At the same time, we are always looking to see who God will bring to us, and what gifts you may have to offer to the body and the community.  So please feel welcome to come fellowship with us.  If you have any questions or thoughts you would like to share, please feel free to contact me.  And if you would like to know more about me, feel free to look at my profile page here.

    God Bless,

    David W. Fresch
    Senior Pastor
